As for the perception you speak about, I hear what you’re saying. I feel that way sometimes as well when I reach out to a “super star” in our industry.

Something I’ve come to learn in recent months though, as more and more people recognize and reach out to me – it can become quite overwhelming given how much any of us has on our plate at any given time. And I’m by no means a super-star. So I can then extrapolate what it must truly be like for someone with 5, 10 or 20 times as many people wanting to connect.

That in turn has given me a new perspective on how it might be on the other side.

In any case, you’re quite welcome. It’s good to know that I have a pest control guy in my network! Ya never know when those pests will come along:-) (Remind me to tell you about the time I had thousands of tiny little spiders on my ceiling, or the time my house was nearly overrun by tens of thousands of ants!)

A little more insight. You were one of the few people that responded back to me on the SMX connect site. That impressed me. I know that a lot of people are busy, but sometimes I and others seem to get this feeling from the “SEO Super Stars” that they are too good for the little guys. Since SEO is just a marketing tool that falls under my stewardship, I don’t feel threatened by others in the SEO field. I’m not a SEO guy. I’m a pest control guy. =)

So thanks for taking the time to respond. In that sense I feel that you earned the shirt. And your ability to listen will get your more than just free t-shirts.

yeah – for all the times people say Matt’s “out to get us”, I really get a different reality when seeing him interact like that.

Oh and for the record, I can’t tell you how many time’s I’ve repeated the story of how my shirt came into existence!
