Experience & Education
Dana Lookadoo started her career in Website Development and Online Marketing in 1996. She began a career in computer and PC training in 1984 and has 17 years of corporate experience outside “search.”
She co-founded and managed two Web firms and an SEO (search engine optimization) agency prior to rebranding her SEO consulting agency, Yo! Yo! SEO. Dana is active in the search industry and a guest writer for a number of search marketing blogs. She has consulted with Fortune 500 companies and small businesses in strategizing marketing, training and search campaigns.
She earned degrees in Telecommunications, Multimedia & Applied Computing and Business Administration. Her minor is in Instructional Technology, the discipline of teaching on the Web incorporating psychology and educational principles. She studied Virtual Reality Modeling Language, learning theory that carries over to her instructional approach today.
Dana taught Web Design at Cal State University, Monterey Bay for three semesters (1999-2000) and has conducted numerous corporate and technical training courses.
She authored a 100-page book for Sun Microsystems, authored “Traveling the Internet” for Sun Microsystems, a 100-page guide for how to travel safely and securely on the Web, which was distributed by California’s First Lady, Maria Shriver, to over 1200 women at the Governor’s dinner in 2005.
Her goal for 2011 is to spend more time “authoring,” which is why she’s giddily excited to be a contributor on Search Marketing Wisdom.
