You wrote enough that anyone with a basic understanding of statistics use recursively to find the other stuff. I understood.

Dennis, there's call tracking solutions - and even better something like MyNextCustomer - ties everything together - where you can assign a phone number for offline campaigns and it registers in the MNC data. Not sure if they have local numbers though.

Hi Alan,

Did you ever see something like a phone-number that triggers a load of a web-page. That would be perfect! Like pick a local number (same area code as you number) and that way you connect it to an online campaign. Nothing fancy but that way any analytics program can pick it up and mark a conversion.

Regards,

Dennis

Read the terms and conditions; and/or try to sign up. It is a minimum $1k per month fee with a minimum 6 month commitment. The more you spend on advertising on TopSEO the higher you can rank. It is a total scam designed for deceipt - so why would they post that? Obviously they want to be considered the "official authority" but can't be bothered to put the work in to make it legitimate.

I agree, I sometimes ignored glaring CRO issues and focused on SEO related aspects in my audits. In the future I will be including these as well so they (developers, designers, etc.) can start fixing them while I work on the SEO issues. We got really valuable takeaways from the user testing - 3rd party opinions are worth their weight in gold. Its easier for them to say 'your categories suck', for example. The nature of the SEO consultant - site owner relationship is such that we want to keep them happy so sometimes it is easier to leave such things unsaid.

Jacob,

This is a very good example of why, at the very least, people in the SEO business need to be aware of the concepts of Conversion Optimization, and that we can play a role in it. Personally, I am striving to incorporate the fundamental aspects of it even in my SEO audits, not just in audits specific to it. Something that needs to be acknowledged and communicated to clients however, is that so many factors are involved that the testing and optimization process can be slow, which might not be something they want to hear. But just as the SEO process is slow at first, it's a reality.
